Airport
The airport for Graz is called "Flughafen Graz-Thalerhof" and located in the Southern direction from Graz.
There is a railway connection on direct line between Graz and
Spielfeld-Strass. The travel time to the airport from Graz main station
is approximately 12 minutes by regional train.
It was in 1913, one year before the first world war, when the
construction of a grass runway and the first hangars was finnished. One
year later in 1914, the new airport saw its first flight. The first air
connection with passengers was in 1925 between the route
Vienna-Graz-Klagenfurt. After the second world war the airport was
extended decade by decade. The first international scheduled flight
started in 1966 with a connection to Frankfurt. The latest extantion of
the airport was in 2005 when a second terminal was built.
